The Health Benefits of Drinking Water:

There are many health benefits that can be enjoyed by drinking good quality water regularly.

1. A Reduction in Fatigue; Drinking water regularly will reduce daytime fatigue, which is one of the first signs of dehydration. When our levels of hydration drop even slightly it can have a dramatic effect. Many people are not aware that feelings of tiredness and lethargy are actually strong signs of mild dehydration.

2. Memory Function; The human brain is one of our most vital organs, and it’s composed of 95% water. When dehydration occurs, mental capacity and energy are sapped, and even our memories can be impaired.

3. Absorption of Nutrients; Getting the right nutrients to the correct parts of our bodies is vital for good health and longevity. The water we drink helps to carry nutrients and oxygen to cells located throughout our bodies. Essential chemical reactions are also facilitated and this important to keep our bodies functioning correctly.

4. Skin Nourishment; Our skin is the largest organ in our body; it’s composed of skin cells, and like all the other cells in our bodies, they contain water. When we don’t drink enough good water, our skin will suffer, becoming less able to retain essential moisture. This is not the same as dry skin, which indicates a lack of essential oils and can be corrected with topical treatment. A lack of moisture in the skin is an internal issue that can only be fixed by maintaining an adequate level of hydration.

5. Toxin Removal; The buildup of toxins in the body is an essential part of staying healthy over the long term. The water we drink acts as a lubricant to soften stools and promote bowel functions. If we don’t drink enough water, the colon will become dry, and this is a major contributing factor to constipation.

6. Blood Circulation; Drinking adequate an amount of good water is essential to keep the blood circulating in our bodies. Blood is required to move nutrients and oxygen to the cells throughout the body and to remove metabolic waste.

7. The Digestive System; We need to drink water to break down our food for digestive purposes. When our food is digested correctly, it’s easier to absorb the nutrients we need, and water helps to keep the digestive system clean.

All of these bodily functions are vital to a long and healthy life and drinking a good quality water helps. There are many experts that promote the drinking of good water as an anti aging measure. This may be an extreme opinion for some people, but as we’ve seen, drinking water can certainly help to keep our bodies working smoothly.
