4 Reasons to Use Smart Technology with Your Water Softener

We have seen in recent years more technology entering our lives to make things better. Most recently we have seen smart technology devices making their way into our homes to make our devices easier to use and more efficient. In this article, we will take a closer look at four reasons why you might want to upgrade your high efficiency (HE) water softener with smart technology.

1. It’s a Time Saver

When you manage the water in your home, it can take up valuable time. Keeping an eye on water usage, flow rates, and salt levels involves tracking a lot of data. When you add smart technology to your water softener, this is all a lot easier to track in real time. Everything is presented to your associated app in an easy to understand format. You will have access to product information, manual regeneration information and online support. Many apps also include remote dealer diagnostics to notify your chosen professional about a problem. This will help to keep your water softener working smoothly and cut down your need for service requests.

2. Saving Water

Many of us are aware of the importance of conserving water to help the environment. There are several water using instances where you wouldn’t need to soften water, such as watering plants, filling a pool, cleaning outdoor and washing the car. When you have a bypass option added, you can soften your water only when you need to. This can be done with a touch on your app, or you could use the built-in timer to bypass for a set period of time. Once the allotted time period has passed your system will automatically start to soften again, and if you change your mind, you can cancel the bypass whenever you want.

3. Saving Money

When you save water, you save money at the same time, and smart technology can help you to track your hourly, daily and weekly water use. With this information at your fingertips, you will be able to analyze your habits and cut back on water usage. Some prime examples include: taking shorter showers, watering plants in the morning to account for evaporation, turning the tap off when brushing your teeth and only using the washing machine or dishwasher when they’re full.

4. Peace of Mind

When you add smart technology to your water softener, you can experience greater peace of mind. There will be monitoring alerts to inform you immediately if there are any unexpected changes in the water flow in your home. This will eliminate that risk of returning home to find that you have some major water problems to deal with. Also, you will be automatically alerted when the salt levels in your brine tank are getting low, and you will never run out of salt again. When you’re more aware of how the water is being used in your home you will be able to make sure that the water softener is working smoothly. Finally, the ability to get up to date information quickly and online support for your water softener is very helpful in getting your problem resolved quickly.
